State bandh on August 11 for special status to AP

Visakhapatnam/Hyderabad, August 3: Communist Party of India (CPI) is planning to organise Andhra Pradesh state bandh on August 11, demanding special status for the State. CPI bus yatra reached Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Speaking at a public meeting in Visakhapatnam, party state secretary K Ramakrishna said Parliament session will conclude on August 10. "If special status to AP is not declared before this date, then we will call for state-wide bandh," he said. Andhra Pradesh MPs should demand for the special status in Parliament and exert pressure. Bharatiya Janata Party earlier announced of according special status for 15 years, now the leaders should try to fulfill that promise. Ramakrishna said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu now should decide whether welfare of the people of the State is important or minister posts in BJP government.
