Himalayan peak 5260 named after Nalini Sengupta

Hyderabad, July 25: One of the Himalayas peak was named after famous mountaineer Nalini Sengupta. The 60-year-old Nalini had trekked several mountains. Giripremi Mountaineering Training Institute proposed to christen 5260 peak as Mount Nalini and the Indian Mountaineering Organisation agreed. Giripremi Institute co-founder Umesh Girpi said trekking the 5260 peak is not an easy one and very challenging. Nalini Sengupta's zeal to trekking is greater than the Himalayan height, he said. Nalini Sengupta of Darjeeling has been trekking since 1970. Her children also following their mother's footsteps. Nalini expressed happy for naming one of the peak after her.
