3 held for duping Snapdeal of Rs 20 lakh

Brahmapur (Odisha), July 18: The Brahmapur police had arrested three persons for duping E-commerce major Snapdeal of Rs 20 lakh. The accused used to exchange substandard products in lieu of the goods purchased from Snapdeal. The accused were identified as V Shankar Rao, Kalia Sahu and B Rajesh Kumar. It may be noted that consumers can exchange the goods procured from e-commerce companies as per certain conditions. The police seized nine laptops, 1,000 mobile SIMs, mobile phones, bank passbooks and cheque books from the accused. Shankar Rao hails from Sompeta in Srikakulam distirct. He along with Rajesh are running a mobile shop in Brahmapur since 2011. The accused created around 5,000 fictitious e-mail Ids and procured costly mobile phones and other electronic gadgets from the company.
