Magunta, Chakrapani Reddy sworn in as MLCs

Hyderabad, July 13: Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy and Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy, who got elected from Local Authorities Constituencies (LAC) quota in Prakasam and Kurnool districts respectively, were sworn in as Members of Legislative Council (MLC) today. Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman M Chakrapani administered the oath to them. Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao, Narsaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and a large numbers of TDP cadres were present. It may be noted that the YSRCP boycotted the polls in Prakasam district, alleging horse-trading of its members by TDP. In Kurnool, Chakrapani Reddy won over YSRCP nominee in a closely-contested election. The elections were held for the two seats as candidates were unanimously elected for remaining seats for which election notification was issued.
