AAP MLA arrested for land grabbing
New Delhi/Hyderabad, July 9: The ruling Aam Aadmi Party MLA Manoj Kumar was arrested on Thursday, on the charges of land grabbing.
Earlier, the police questioned him at New Ashok Nagar police station in Delhi and later took him into custody.
A cheating case was filed against Manoj Kumar alleging that he cheated his business partner for Rs six lakh. Land dispute between the MLA and his partner was going on since some time.
Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi said they questioned Manoj regarding this case. The victim, Vinod Kumar, said that Manoj Kumar was a real estate dealer before entering politics.
"Then, I was his partner. I gave him Rs 6 lakh to buy a plot in November 2012," Vinod said. Neither he returned the money nor bought a plot, he added.
Manoj Kumar represents Kondli constituency. Several cheating and attack cases were filed against him earlier.
