Did Outlook really apologise?
Hyderabad, July 2: The English magazine, 'Outlook' did express its apology but not as directed by the IAS officer, Smita Sabharwal. The woman IAS officer sent legal notice to the management of the magazine for carrying a sexist comment on her. She demanded a detailed public apology within 15 days. Responding to the legal notice, the magazine said they have not mentioned any names in their feature, 'boring babu'. The management said they haven't received any legal notice even 36 hours after the incident happened and said they came to know about this through TV channels, newspapers and websites. The management also stated that their correspondent is getting threatening calls. The management said they normally write satirical stories in their magazine but ". . . we don't mean to humiliate anyone. But after observing the sensitivity of the article, we'll remove it." They said they are regretting for any mistake done by them.
