Derecognise ill-equipped colleges: Governor

Tirupati, June 22: Governor ESL Narasimhan has asked the officials to derecognise ill-equipped colleges. He along with Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu attended the 54th convocation ceremony of Sri Venkateswara University here today. The Governor regretted that some people were setting up educational institutions with the sole aim of making money. He expressed concern over shortage of teaching staff, laboratory equipment and other facilities at colleges and directed officials to derecognise such colleges. The Governor presented medals and degrees to meritorious students. Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu called upon the people to work together to make India a super power. He told the students to live up to the expectations of parents. He opined that education should develop confidence and guarantee employment. Vice-Chancellor Rajendra and others were present.
