Nandamuri Balakrishna Receives Lifetime Achievement Award at IFFD 2026
Prominent actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades-long contribution to Indian cinema. He received the accolade at the International Film Festival of Delhi (IFFD) 2026, which commenced in the national capital on Wednesday.
The grand award ceremony was hosted at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the award to the seasoned actor, recognising his extensive service to the film industry.
Alongside Balakrishna, the festival also conferred Lifetime Achievement honours upon veteran actress Sharmila Tagore and the late legendary actor Dharmendra. Family members of Dharmendra were present at the event to accept the posthumous award on his behalf.
The film festival was officially inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. She was joined on stage by Delhi Cabinet Ministers Kapil Mishra and Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, as well as prominent actresses Hema Malini, Kangana Ranaut, and Sharmila Tagore.
