US woman sentenced for 24 years in jail for pushing Indian to death

Queensland, (USA ) May 21, 2015: A Queensland court has sentenced a New York woman for 24 years in jail for shoving an Indian in front of a running train and killing him in 2012 out of her hatred for Hindus and Muslims. Erika Menendez, 33, had pleaded guilty in the court saying she pushed the Indian, Sunando Sen , 46, before the running train from a platform on Dec 27, 2012. "Do you remember you said after your arrest by police that you hate Hindus and Muslims," Justice Gregary Lasak asked her. She replied she didn't remember what she told police and for what reason she pushed him before the running train. It was proved in the court that the woman was standing behind Sen at 8 PM on Dec 27, 2012 on the sub way platform and pushed him abruptly from behind before the train resulting in his instant death. Sen who had migrated from India , opened his own printing business near Columbia University. He was a loner and his parents had died long ago. The judge , while convicting her, said her act had taken away the sense of security to the millions of railway commuters in New York city.
