Jagan sees corruption in Godavari Pushkaram works
Rajahmundry, May 4, 2015: YSR Congress party president and leader of the opposition Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy came down heavily on the tardy progress of Godavari Pushkaram works saying chief minister Chandrababu Naidu wants to benefit his party men and his sycophants by handing them over the contracts at the eleventh hour. Speaking to reporters after visiting the Kotilingala Ghat and inspecting the works near here, Jaganmohan Reddy said TDP Government started the Ghat construction works just ahead of the Pushkarams only to benefit the party leaders. There is lot of corruption in the works, he averred. "Chandrababu knows very well that Pushkarams would begin on July 14 this year. But, he kept silent all these months saying that no one is coming forward to take up the works. The main intention is that he wanted to hand over the works to his men and gain financially, " Jaganmohan Reddy remarked. "While Chief Minister says that Rs.200 Cr was allotted for Pushkarams, Finance Minister Yanamala says that Rs.1400 Cr was allotted. Which is correct ?" he asked and commented that it was all done according to a plan to benefit their men and benefit themselves by ordering works in the last minute in a hush-hush manner. Jaganmohan Reddy also objected to the removal of poor people's houses for the expansion of Kotilngala Ghat."Where will they go?' he fumed.
