MAA poll results to be delayed again as Kalyan approaches HC
Hyderabad, April 16, 2015: In an unexpected twist to the MAA ( Movie Artistes Association) president poll, small time artiste O.Kalyan filed a petition in the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad on Thursday challenging the orders of the city civil court.
Challenging the orders of the city civil court which said on Wednesday that the MAA authorities can count the votes polled in the recent president election and declare the result, Kalyan told the HC in his petition that civil court orders are not in tune with the law.
He appealed to the HC to declare the election process adopted by the MAA authorities null and void and order fresh poll to elect new MAA president in place of the out going president Murali Mohan.
In view of the petition, the declaration of results may be delayed again. Senior actors Rajendra Prasad and Jaya Sudha are the main contestants for the President post.
