Irregularities in APPSC Evaluation: Police Detain Dhatri Madhu

Dhatri Madhu, Director of the private firm CommonSign, has been arrested by the police in connection with alleged irregularities in the evaluation of examinations conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). He was taken into custody from his office in Hyderabad and is being transported to Vijayawada for further investigation.

This arrest follows complaints alleging malpractice in the evaluation process of APPSC examinations. It was reported that the process was manipulated to favour certain candidates. Given the critical role of these exams in public sector recruitment, authorities had been investigating the claims for some time.

According to police sources, CommonSign was contracted for specific tasks related to the conduct of these examinations. Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that under the leadership of Dhatri Madhu, the company violated prescribed procedures and altered marks to benefit select candidates.

“Our investigation has revealed serious violations that compromise the integrity of the examination process. We are thoroughly examining all documents and electronic records to determine the full extent of the irregularities,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police K. Ramakrishna during a media briefing.

The developments have caused significant concern among the thousands of aspirants who appeared for the APPSC exams. Student unions across the state are demanding a comprehensive inquiry and the re-evaluation of all affected examination papers.

The state government has assured that it will not tolerate any corruption in the recruitment process and will initiate legal action against all responsible individuals. In accordance with legal procedures, Dhatri Madhu will be presented before a magistrate in Vijayawada within 24 hours of his arrest.

Meanwhile, until the investigation is concluded, APPSC has temporarily suspended all ongoing evaluation processes. In connection with the same case, senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu has already been named as Accused No. 1 in the FIR filed at the Suryapet Police Station in Vijayawada.
