Pat Cummins Wreaks Havoc as Delhi Crumble to 133 in IPL 2025
In the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a commanding bowling performance against Delhi Capitals, restricting them to a modest total. Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Sunrisers Hyderabad curtailed Delhi Capitals to 133 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Sunrisers bowlers maintained disciplined lines and lengths, making it difficult for Delhi batters to score freely. At one point, it appeared Delhi might collapse before reaching 100, but Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma stabilized the innings with a crucial partnership.

Delhi Capitals suffered early setbacks after choosing to bat first. In his opening over, Sunrisers captain Pat Cummins dismissed Karun Nair for a duck, striking an early blow. Soon after, he removed Faf du Plessis (3) and Abhishek Porel (8), leaving Delhi reeling at 15 for 3. Captain Axar Patel (6) and KL Rahul (10) also failed to make an impact, with Delhi collapsing to 29 for 5 in 7.1 overs.

Tristan Stubbs, along with Vipraj Nigam (18), offered some resistance, adding 33 runs for the sixth wicket before Nigam was run out. Ashutosh Sharma then joined Stubbs at the crease, and the pair formed a critical 66-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Ashutosh played an aggressive innings, scoring 41 runs off 26 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes, before being dismissed in the final over. Stubbs remained unbeaten with 41 runs from 36 balls, hitting 4 boundaries.

Among the bowlers, Pat Cummins led from the front with figures of 3 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Jaydev Unadkat also bowled economically, conceding just 13 runs in his 4 overs and taking one wicket. Harshal Patel and Eshan Malinga claimed a wicket each. The collective bowling effort by Sunrisers Hyderabad ensured Delhi Capitals were held to a low total.
