Super Fast Connectivity to Amaravati: Krishna River Bridge Now Ready
In welcome news for travelers heading to the capital city Amaravati, a major infrastructure project has been completed that will significantly reduce travel time and traffic congestion. A new six-lane bridge spanning 3.11 kilometers across the Krishna River is now open to the public, eliminating the need to enter the city of Vijayawada and get stuck in prolonged traffic.

The bridge was inaugurated against the backdrop of the Prime Minister's visit and the resumption of construction work in Amaravati. Constructed as part of the western bypass, this new bridge provides a highly accelerated route to the capital. Travelers approaching from Hyderabad can access the bridge near Gollapudi and reach Venkatapalem in Amaravati in just five minutes by crossing the Krishna River.

Similarly, travelers coming from the twin Godavari districts and the northern coastal Andhra region can take the bypass near Chinna Avutapalli close to Gannavaram. This enables them to enter Amaravati without passing through Vijayawada traffic, reaching their destination in under thirty minutes.

The bridge not only saves considerable travel time but also facilitates the transport of heavy vehicles and construction materials essential for the ongoing development of Amaravati. To ensure fast and safe travel, separate lanes on both sides, signage, dividers, and lighting systems have been installed.

Locals and commuters have welcomed the new route, saying it will be highly beneficial for Amaravati’s development and will offer much-needed convenience for daily travel. For those commuting to the Secretariat, High Court, and other government offices in the capital region, the bridge is expected to be a major boon.
