A group of more than 260 highly respected citizens, which includes retired judges and former government officials, has reached out to Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud. Their letter addresses the recent statement made by DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin regarding "Sanatan Dharma," which they consider to be a form of "hate speech." In their message to the Chief Justice, these citizens, among them retired Delhi High Court judge SN Dhingra, express their concerns. They highlight that not only did Udhayanidhi Stalin make what they perceive as hate speech, but he also chose not to apologize for his comments. The letter is endorsed by a total of 262 individuals, which includes 14 retired judges, 130 former bureaucrats, and 118 ex-armed forces officers. These signatories are deeply troubled by the remarks made by the Tamil Nadu minister, seeing them as words that promote hostility against a significant part of India's population.
