Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, announced the rollout of the AP Guaranteed Pension scheme (GPS) for state government workers. This move replaces the earlier Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), aiming to address the long-term needs of its beneficiaries. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy shared this news during his visit to the AP NGO's 21st State Congress in Vijayawada, where he was a special guest. He praised the efforts of the AP NGO community and expressed optimism that other states would soon adopt similar pension schemes. The Chief Minister was critical of past administrations but highlighted the achievements of his own tenure. Since taking office in 2019, his government claims to have created jobs for over 206,638 individuals. This figure includes 135,000 roles at village levels such as in Grama, wards, and the Secretariat. Additionally, 53,126 have been employed in the health sector. He also pointed to his government's effort to provide stable employment for 53,000 workers from the RTC.
