New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his view that President Droupadi Murmu should have the honour of inaugurating the new Parliament House, rather than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi's suggestion comes just a week before the scheduled inauguration of the new Parliament building on May 28. With the ceremony fast approaching, the Congress leader voiced his belief that the President should lead the inauguration proceedings. This statement followed a tweet by Rahul Gandhi, stating, "The President should inaugurate the new Parliament House and not the Prime Minister." In contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the triangular-shaped four-storey building, which spans an impressive 64,500 square meters.
