Nikhat, the reigning World champion in the 50kg category, secured her second consecutive gold medal at the tournament by defeating Nguyen Thi Tam of Vietnam. Lovlina, the Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist in the 75kg category, clinched her first World Championship gold medal with a 5-2 win on points, after the bout was reviewed, against Caitlin Parker of Australia. The hosts had two more gold medallists, with Nitu Ghanghas, a medallist at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, winning in the 48kg category, and Saweety Boora, a three-time Asian medallist, triumphing in the 81kg category. Each of the pugilists received INR 82.7 lakh ($100,000) in prize money for their World Championship victories. This marks the second time in history that India has won four gold medals at the Women's World Boxing Championships, with the previous occurrence happening in 2006 when Mary Kom, Sarita Devi, Jenny Lalremliani, and Lekha K.C won gold for the country.
