Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese attended the first day of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy test match at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Upon their arrival at the stadium, the leaders were given a tour of the facility while spectators cheered in amazement. They also had the opportunity to meet with their respective cricket team captains, Rohit Sharma and stand-in captain Steve Smith, before watching the game together for around 25 minutes. Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, BCCI chairman Roger Binny, and secretary Jay Shah welcomed Prime Minister Modi to the stadium. This is the fourth meeting between the two leaders since Albanese's election in 2022. His visit to India will continue until March 11th.
