In a heart-wrenching rescue, extended family members pulled a newborn baby from the rubble of a home in northern Syria. The baby was found still tied to her deceased mother by her umbilical cord after a massive 7.8-magnitude quake struck the region on Monday. The tragedy resulted in the death of the baby's father, Abdullah, mother Afraa, four siblings, and an aunt. The footage captures the moment when a man sprints from the collapsed four-story building clutching the tiny, dust-covered baby. The infant was taken for treatment in the nearby town of Afrin and is the sole survivor of her immediate family. Family members spent the next several hours recovering the bodies of the deceased. The quake, which struck Syria and neighboring Turkey, flattened the family's home in the rebel-held town of Jindayris, according to Khalil al-Suwadi.
