In a major blow to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party, Senior leader and former MLA from Kodangal, Gurunath Reddy, has joined the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Friday. Along with him MPP Muddappa Deshmukh also joined the Congress party. This unexpected move by Gurunath Reddy, who had represented the Kodangal constituency for seven consecutive terms, has left the BRS party in a state of shock. Gurunath Reddy, who played a crucial role in the victory of the BRS in the previous elections by securing 30,000 votes for himself in the Kondangal constituency, has now joined hands with Telangana PCC President A Revanth Reddy. The two leaders reportedly discussed organizing a padayatra in the Kodangal Assembly constituency to campaign against the BRS.
