Tech companies in America, including industry giants like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, and Twitter, have traditionally been a top destination for IT professionals from around the world. Many foreigners, including a large number of Indians, have found employment at these companies, with many earning salaries in the lakhs. However, the current economic recession has caused a significant shift in the industry. IT companies are struggling to maintain profits and secure new projects, leading to cost-cutting measures such as layoffs. Unfortunately, a disproportionate number of these layoffs are impacting Indian employees. In addition to the economic downturn, the threat of H-1B visa restrictions is also causing concern for Indian tech professionals working in the US. The implications of these cuts and restrictions are yet to be fully realized, but it is clear that the once-booming IT industry in America is facing significant challenges.
