The Telangana government announced on Monday, January 23, the suspension of a Deputy Tahsildar, Anand Kumar Reddy, following his arrest for breaking into the residence of the Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and Secretary to the Telangana Chief Minister, Smita Sabharwal. Medchal Malkajgiri district collector issued the orders for Reddy's suspension. The incident reportedly took place on the night of January 19 but came to light on Sunday. The government has taken a serious note of the incident and officials of the revenue department will serve the suspension orders to Anand Kumar Reddy at the Chanchalguda Central Jail where he is currently lodged.
