The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), which oversees the Tirumala temple, has deployed electric buses from Tirupati to Tirumala in an effort to make Tirumala more environmentally friendly. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy signalled the start of the first batch of 10 electric buses on Tuesday night. There were TTD officials present, including Chairman Y V Subba Reddy. The state government has given the APSRTC permission to operate 100 electric buses under the gross cost contract (GCC) model in order to maintain a pollution-free environment in Tirumala. On the other hand, the annual 'Srivari Brahmotsavam' began on Tuesday, beginning a two-year hiatus caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.
