The state governments are allowed to make any number of concessions in the case of agricultural electricity, according to Union Power Minister RK Singh. The Electricity Amendment Act, according to the Minister, does not contain a single anti-farmer phrase. Singh said that it is utterly false what CM KCR said about the Center pushing for the installation of metres on farm motors. He stated that AP should be paid the Telangana electrical dues. The Telangana government must pay AP 12,970 crore rupees, according to Union Minister RK Singh. He said that their jurisdiction only extends to electricity supplied in accordance with directives from the Central Electricity Department. The Power Minister claimed that following the bifurcation, the Central government instructed the state of Andhra Pradesh to supply electricity to Telangana and cover the associated costs.
