Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, attacked the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy administration in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, calling it a mafia-run state. The Union Minister claimed that Andhra Pradesh had turned into the "home of the liquor mafia, sand mafia, land mafia, and drug mafia" while speaking to a rally of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha on Sunday in Vijayawada. To avoid backlash against him, the Union Minister urged the Chief Minister to clean up the situation. With his hands folded, Thakur urged CM Jagan to keep young people drug-free and advised him not to play with their futures. The Telangana government of KCR has also come under fire from the Minister. According to the Minister, Telangana was ranked second in corruption and Andhra Pradesh was fourth in the CMS India Corruption Study-2018. Both Telugu States hold competition to see who will become corruption number one, the Union Minister has alleged.
