In a 2003 human trafficking case, a Patiala court on Thursday sentenced Punjabi musician Daler Mehendi to two years in prison. Today, the singer's petition was rejected by the court, and he was detained and taken to jail. A division bench in Patiala today announced the order after 15 years and maintained the conviction of Punjabi singer Faler Mehndi in an illegal immigration racket case that dated back to 2003. Judge HS Grewal of the Patiala Additional Sessions commanded the singer's immediate arrest. Daler Mehendi was found guilty by the court, and the verdict was made public. 31 counts have been brought against Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Singh in this case, which dates back to 2003.
