Krishnakumar Kunnath, popular playback singer known as KK by legions of admirers, was cremated on Thursday afternoon at the Versova Hindu Cemetry in Mumbai's Andheri. The singer died on Tuesday night, just moments after playing live at Kolkata's Nazrul Manch auditorium. On June 2, his lifeless remains were returned to his house from the hospital. His son performed the singer's final rituals in the presence of his wife Jyothi and other family. Music industry luminaries such as Javed Akhtar, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Alka Yagnik, Javed Ali, Sunidhi Chauhan, and many others gathered to bid KK farewell.
