The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) result surprised Shruti Sharma, who received the highest rank, because she had not expected to receive the best rank and had assumed that she would merely be able to clear the exam. In a special interview with a national TV channel, the topper stated that she prepared her own notes for the examination from numerous sources, keeping to core basic books including NCERT, rather than relying on coaching material.
