The presence of the coronavirus's BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron subvariants in India has been confirmed by INSACOG, with one case in Tamil Nadu and another in Telangana. The BA.4 sub-variant of the virus was discovered in a 19-year-old woman in Tamil Nadu. The patient has only mild clinical signs and has received all of her vaccinations. In another case, an 80-year-old man from Telangana tested positive for the virus's BA.5 subvariant. He has only mild clinical signs and has received all of his vaccinations. BA.4 and BA.5 are sub-variants of the virus's highly transmissible Omicron variant. All state governments and the Central government have focused on preventing the spread of these variations.
