Hafeez Saeed, the mastermind of the Mumbai attacks has been sentenced to a total of 31 years in jail. The Pakistan Anti-Terrorism Court has sentenced the leader of Jamaat-ud-Dawa in two separate cases involving the diversion of funds to terrorists. It also levied a Rs 3 lakh 40 lakh penalty and ordered Hafeez's assets to be frozen. Hafiz Saeed's mosque and madrassa will be taken over by Pakistani authorities. In 2020, the terrorist leader was sentenced to 15 years in jail for supporting terrorists. The Mumbai terror attacks in 2008 killed 166 people. The Center has consistently requested that Hafeez Saeed, who is accused of masterminding, be extradited, but Pakistan has refused.
