In a heroic act during an anti-terrorist mission in Jammu's Rajouri district, a loyal Indian Army dog named 'Kent' laid down her life to protect a soldier. The operation resulted in the elimination of one terrorist, but sadly, one Army soldier lost his life. A high-ranking Army official shared with Republic that Kent played a vital role in the operation conducted in the Narla Bambal area of Rajouri district. Kent, a member of the 21 Army Dog Unit, fearlessly led a group of soldiers in pursuit of escaping terrorists. Tragically, Kent faced intense enemy gunfire and succumbed to her injuries. She valiantly shielded her handler, demonstrating the utmost bravery in line with the Indian Army's traditions. Kent, a six-year-old hero, had served in the Indian Army's counter-insurgency unit in the region. Over the course of her four years of service, she had participated in numerous counter-terrorism operations.
