The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) called for a statewide bandh to protest the arrest of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Several party leaders, including TDP president K Atchannaidu, were taken into preventive custody by the police. TDP activists staged protests on some roads in the state, and the police dispersed them in certain areas. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Shankha Brata Bagchi reported a peaceful situation overall, with no untoward incidents. Prohibitory orders were implemented by local authorities as needed. Security was heightened in Rajamahendravaram and around the central prison where Naidu is held, while APSRTC buses operated without any disruptions.
