Thane: A tragic incident occurred in Maharashtra's Thane district, as an infant and a woman lost their lives, while five others sustained injuries when a residential building collapsed shortly after midnight on Sunday. According to civic officials, the single-storey building, consisting of six flats, was located on Durga Road in the Dhobi Talao area of Bhiwandi town, and the collapse occurred at 12:35 am. Following the alert, a team from the Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF) and fire personnel from the Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation rushed to the scene. A search operation continued through the night, ultimately rescuing seven individuals from the debris. The victims were identified as Uzma Atif Momin (40) and Taslima Mosar Momin (8 months). Among the injured were four women and a 65-year-old man, all of whom were admitted to a local hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
