HYDERABAD: MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy is poised for an entry into the State Cabinet this Wednesday. Mahender Reddy, previously hopeful of a Tandur Assembly ticket, faced disappointment when it was denied. The party's choice instead favored incumbent MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy, who had bested Mahender Reddy in the 2018 Assembly elections before shifting from Congress to BRS. Sources suggest that the BRS leader aimed to induct Mahender Reddy into the Cabinet to mend fences. The four-time MLA and former transport minister could potentially take the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday, contingent on Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's availability to administer the oath. Notably, Mahender Reddy's brother, Patnam Narender Reddy, the present MLA from Kodangal, was offered the opportunity to stand for re-election. Worth mentioning, a vacancy emerged in the State Cabinet following the dismissal of former Health Minister Eatala Rajender in May 2021.
