Another leopard was captured near the Lakshminarasimhaswamy temple on Tirumala's footpath. The TIT Chairman and officials confirmed that the animal was trapped around midnight. They shared that 300 cameras are monitoring wildlife activity in the area to ensure devotee safety. Responding to criticism on social media, the TIT Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy defended the decision to provide sticks to devotees for safety. He emphasized that the sticks were not a sign of neglecting responsibility, but an added measure for safety. The capture comes after a tragic incident on August 11, where a six-year-old girl was fatally attacked by a leopard. TTD chairman and Executive Officer A. V. Dharma Reddy visited the capture site, noting this was the second leopard caught on the Alipiri footpath route in less than a week.
