In Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district, a pair of train robberies unfolded, leaving passengers in distress as reported by the police on Monday. The initial incident involved a gang of six robbers who targeted passengers traveling on the Chennai-bound Hyderabad Express between Singarayakonda and Kavali on Sunday night. Allegedly, the robbers tampered with the signal, resulting in the train's halt, as per the railway police. The robbers focused on coaches S2, S4, S5, S6, S7, and S8, relieving passengers of their possessions, including valuable gold jewelry. Subsequently, the same gang targeted the Hyderabad-Chennai Charminar Express, robbing passengers within the S1 and S2 coaches. When railway police personnel attempted to apprehend the culprits, they responded by pelting stones and managing to escape. Both robberies occurred between 1:20 a.m. and 1:50 a.m., prompting affected passengers to file complaints with the police. The railway police in Kavali have since launched an investigation into the incidents.
