Nellore: Students hailing from the fishermen community in Irakam, Tirupati district, encountered a boat accident while returning home from Sunnapugunta Government School in Yelavur, Tamil Nadu. The boat became entangled in a fishing net's engine near Pulicat, causing sudden swaying and distress among approximately 60 students. Despite signal challenges, villagers were alerted, and they swiftly organized a rescue operation, navigating three boats to reach the stranded students in Pulicat Lake. The incident sheds light on the risks these students face while traversing the lake, highlighting concerns for their safety and prompting community discussions about necessary precautions.
