The recently unveiled trailer for the web series 'Tali,' starring former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress Susmithasen, has sparked intrigue. This series delves into the life of transgender individual Srigauri Sawant, hailing from Pune, Maharashtra. The accomplished director Ravijadav, a recipient of the National Award, has helmed this project, with Susmithasen essaying the role of Srigauri. The trailer showcases Susmithasen's impressive performance, hinting at an exploration of transgender rights struggles and societal challenges in the narrative. Scheduled for release on August 15, in celebration of Independence Day, 'Tali' is set to premiere across various OTT platforms in Hindi, Telugu, and several southern languages. Director Ravijadav revealed that the web series draws from numerous real-life incidents faced by both Srigauri and other transgender individuals. Born in Pune, Srigauri dedicated herself to championing transgender rights, establishing the Sakhi Char Chowghi Trust and pioneering a significant Supreme Court ruling in 2014 that recognized transgenders as the third gender.
