Union Minister Smriti Irani expressed strong disapproval on Wednesday over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's action of blowing a flying kiss in the Lok Sabha. She labeled him as misogynistic and questioned if he should be held accountable for his actions. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Irani said, "Never before has the misogynistic behavior of a man been so visible in Parliament." She further questioned, "When the House of the People, where laws are made to protect the dignity of women, during the course of a session stands witness to a man's misogyny, my question is should he be brought to task?" In response to the incident, earlier, BJP women MPs have filed a complaint with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. They accuse Rahul Gandhi of an "indecent gesture" and claim that it was an insult to women. The matter has sparked discussions both within and outside of Parliament.
