East Godavari: A devastating road accident near Korukonda in East Godavari district resulted in the loss of three young lives as a car carrying engineering students veered out of control and plunged into a canal. The unfortunate incident occurred while students from Eluru Sri Ramachandra Engineering College were returning from a hut excursion at Maredumilli. The car, with ten students on board, lost control while crossing Korukonda around 11 pm, and it tragically ended up in the deep canal. Sadly, three students, identified as Uday Kiran, Hemant, and Harshavardhan, lost their lives in the accident. Among the six occupants of the car, three managed to reach the shore safely, while three others remain missing. The body of one of the missing students has been recovered, leaving two others yet to be located.
