Kakinada: Vande Bharat Express trains plying between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad will include a halt at Samalkot station. Currently, these prestigious trains only stop at four stations - Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Khammam, and Warangal. However, due to the dedicated efforts of Kakinada MP Vanga Geeta Viswanath, the Union Minister for Railways has approved the addition of a halt at Samalkot for the convenience of Kakinada district residents. As per the new schedule announced by the Railways, the Vande Bharat train departing from Visakhapatnam for Secunderabad will now make a halt at Samalkot at 7.14 am. Similarly, the train traveling from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam will also have a stop at Samalkot at 9.34 pm.
