Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued an interim order, putting a hold on the construction of houses in Amaravati's R-5 zone. A three-judge bench consisting of Justice DVSS Somayajulu, Justice CH Manovendranathrai, and Justice Ravinath Tilhari passed the verdict in response to a petition seeking to stop the ongoing construction in the region. The AP government had previously granted house titles to the poor under the name of Jagananna colonies in the R-5 zone, distributing approximately 1,400 acres in the capital area. Additionally, house construction documents were given to 50,793 people in Amaravati. However, objections were raised by certain parties, contending that the houses should be located elsewhere, as the R-5 zone was designated for electricity-related purposes. Despite these objections, the government allowed the construction of houses for 5 percent of the poor in the capital region. Responding to the appeal made by farmers, who challenged the government's decision, the High Court took the decision to halt the
