Hyderabad: Vanama Venkateswara Rao, the embattled Kothagudem MLA, is once again entangled in legal trouble as the High Court dismissed his interim application seeking a stay on the sensational verdict delivered two days ago. The High Court had ruled his election as MLA invalid, sparking controversy. Despite Vanama's plans to challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court, the High Court declined his request for a stay of execution and dismissed the petition. As per the High Court's ruling on the 25th, Vanama's election as Kothagudem legislator was declared invalid, and he was also slapped with a fine of Rs 5 lakh. Jalagam Venkatram, the second candidate in the election, has been ordered to be declared the MLA from December 12, 2018. The legal battle surrounding Vanama's election continues to unfold in the High Court.
