Kadapa: The prices of tomatoes have been rapidly increasing, prompting the Kadapa people to flock to the local farmer's market for a chance to buy them at a discounted rate of Rs. 50 per kilogram. As early as 5 a.m., customers started lining up, and the queue extended for about 2 kilometres. Even afternoon, the demand for tomatoes showed no signs of slowing down. In comparison, tomatoes in the open market are being sold at a much higher rate, ranging from Rs. 120 to 150 per kilogram. The escalating prices have led to increased interest in purchasing tomatoes at the farmer's market.
