The leakage has emerged from a previously dug and buried bore well, which has now ignited, causing flames to rise near Sivakoti Aqua Pond in Razole Mandal. Swift action was taken after locals immediately reported the incident to the police. A response team consisting of the police, ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation), and firefighters rushed to the scene to assess the situation and develop strategies for extinguishing the fire completely. Konaseema district is known for its abundant gas deposits, attracting oil companies to explore various areas and extract resources before closing operations. However, gas resurgences in sealed locations have been observed in the past, and this incident appears to be a recent occurrence.
