Capital investments in urban Telangana have seen a dramatic four-fold increase over the span of 2014-2023, compared to the prior decade, according to a decadal report unveiled by the Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), KT Rama Rao(KTR), on Wednesday. The report further highlighted that an astounding 91.8 percent of the total capital investment was contributed by the Telangana government, whereas the central government's contribution amounted to just Rs 9,934 crore, making up a meager 8.2 percent of the total. As per the report, the MA&UD department has allocated more than Rs 1.21 lakh crore towards infrastructure enhancement within urban Telangana. Following the report's unveiling, Minister Rama Rao acknowledged the department's proactive strides in addressing challenges such as solid waste management and air pollution, achievements that have gained international recognition.
