The first State visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Egypt commenced with a ceremonial welcome as he reached Cairo. A ceremonial welcome and a Guard of Honour were accorded to him upon his arrival. Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly received PM Modi at the airport in a special gesture. PM Modi tweeted shortly after landing in Cairo that he is optimistic about enhancing India-Egypt relations during this visit. I eagerly await talks with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and attending additional programs. The act of welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport was acknowledged and appreciated by his Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly. Modi tweeted that he hopes for a flourishing relationship between India and Egypt that benefits their respective citizens.
