Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leaders were either placed under house arrest or taken into preventive custody throughout the state on Thursday. This action was taken in anticipation of the opposition party's planned protest coinciding with the culmination of the state government's ten-year anniversary celebrations. In order to prevent their participation in the planned protests, the police placed prominent Congress leaders under house arrest. The twenty-one-day-long celebrations were drawing to a close on Thursday. The Congress party referred to this occasion as 'Dashabdi Dhaga' (a decade of deceit) and called for protests across the state.
