Haridwar: In a powerful display of their ongoing protest against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Singh over sexual harassment charges, India's top wrestlers were overcome with emotion as they gathered on the banks of the Ganga in Haridwar on Tuesday evening. With their medals held close to their chests, the wrestlers planned to "immerse" their accolades as a symbolic act. The athletes, including Olympian Sakshi Malik, arrived at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar around 6 p.m., bringing their medals in black bags. Surrounded by their family members, the wrestlers sat along the riverbank, seeking solace from their fellow athletes. A sizable crowd gathered around them, pleading with the wrestlers not to cast their medals into the river. The protest has taken a serious turn, with the wrestlers also issuing a threat of a fast-unto-death protest at Delhi's India Gate war memorial.
